Sometimes transliterated as: Atatayi, AtatAyI, AAtataayi


  1. an adversary or enemy who commits or attempts to commit a criminal offence with the intention of hurting, harming or killing
  2. 7 types of enemies who either/or (i) sets fire (ii) poisons (iii) attacks with weapons (iv) robs and plunders wealth and property which may threaten the life of the robbed (vi) robs one’s land (vii) robs one’s wife (M. Bh.).
