  1. pertaining to Irāvatī; as fast as the wind
  2. the king of the elephants, the son of Irāvatī, a descendant of Kaśyapa, the mount of Indra and one of the eight elephants guarding the universe (M. Bh.); a serpent son of Kaśyapa and Kadru whose descendant Ulūpi married by Arjuna and gave birth to Irāvāna (M. Bh.); an asura killed by Kŗşņa (M. Bh.).
