Durga Saptashati, also known as Devi Mahatmya and Chandi Path, is a text describing the victory of the Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura. It is part of the Markandeya Purana, written by sage Markandeya. It is composed of 700 verses, divided into thirteen chapters or sections known as "Adhyayas." It eloquently describes Goddess Durga's exploits and divine battles against various formidable demons
