Milk is drawn in the morning and heated. Then the sour milk of the previous evening is added to it, the mixture divides itself into two portions, the solid one being called āmikṣā and the liquid one, vājina. Āmikṣā is also called payasyā. It is offered to the Viśvedevas during the Cāturmāsya sacrifices.
