Śuddhādvaita literally means ‘the pure advaita’.
The system of philosophy of Vallabhācārya or Vallabha[1] is known as Śuddhādvaita. Vallabha does not accept Śaṅkara’s[2] advaita as sufficiently non-dualistic since he also accepts māyā, a principle of illusion, thereby negating non-dualism. According to Vallabha, māyā is the real power of Brahman, the Saccidānanda, inherent in him. He claimed that there is no second reality different from or outside Brahman. His philosophy is called as Śuddhādvaita.
