droṇakalaśa

Vedic sacrifices, the Somayāgas are a class by themselves. The soma juice is the main dravya or ingre¬dient to be offered into the sacrificial fire in these yāgas. The soma juice is prepared by crushing the soma stalks with stones.

It is then strained through a cloth called daśāpavitra into a wooden vessel with a handle. This latter is called ‘droṇakalaśa’ or ‘duroṇakalaśa’. See DAŚĀPAVITRA also.
