Talk:Mantrapuspa

From Hindupedia, the Hindu Encyclopedia

Mantrapuṣpa This is a short piece forming a part of the Taittirīya Āranyaka (1.22.1 to 7). It is primarily used in the worship of Sṅrya (the Sun-god) as also in Sṅrya- namaskāra. It is also used to offer flowers at the end of ritualistic worship. The sun, the moon and the stars (sṅrya, candra and nakṣatra) appear to rise from the waters of the ocean for an onlooker. Hence they have been called puṣpa or flowers of the water. One who knows them as such reaps great benefits like having children and cows.
