Sādhanabhakti literally means ‘means of lower devotion that lead to the highest devotion, parābhakti’.
Bhakti or devotion towards God has two aspects:
- Parābhakti - It is the intense devotion that spontaneously arises after God-realization.
- Aparābhakti - It is the means to it. Hence it can be termed sādhanabhakti or gauni-bhakti.
In comparison, parābhakti is also called as sādhyabhakti.
