Talk:Sahasraliñga
By Swami Harshananda
sahasraliñga (‘thousand liṅgas’)
Śivaliṅgas or emblems of Śiva are sculptured in several ways. One such is the sahasraliṅga.
On the Rudrabhāga or the pujābhāga are carved 1000 emblems by the incision of parallel horizontal and vertical lines, and by chamfering the edges of the resultant criss-cross sections.
