From Hindupedia, the Hindu Encyclopedia

śākta (‘worshipper of Śakti [or Divine Mother]’) Worshippers of God, in Hinduism, are generally divided into three groups: the vaiṣṇavas, the śaivas and the śāktas. Viṣṇu, Śiva and Śakti (Divine Mother, Pārvatī and her aspects) are, respectively, the deities they worship. Of course, even these deities are facets of Brahman, the Absolute. The religion and the philosophy of the Śāktas is contained in the tantras. See also TANTRAS.
