Ūḍhaḥ refers to the person who is unmarried (particularly in the smṛtis).
Ūḍhaḥ can be used in all the three genders.
It is derived as “Udyate sma” with the kta affix.
Mallinātha notes that it has been Paranipāta on the force of “vāhitāgnyādiṣu”.
