Sometimes transliterated as: Urmi, Urmi, UUrmi

Ūrmi means waves.

Gender

Ūrmi can be used in feminine as well as masculine form.

Origin

It is derived from ṛ + mi by Uṇādi Sūtra from “arterudādeśaśca" which means “The flag flew as if the wave of the heavenly ganges”.^[1]
