A kind of cucumber.[1]

Gender

Irvvāruśuktikā is a feminine form.

Origin

It is derived from "irvvāruḥ śuktikeva, svayaṁ sphoṭanāt" which means 'irvvaaru - like a sea-shell, because it explodes by itself.
